Getting actor headshots is more than just taking a picture, it’s about capturing you. This guide is here to help you feel prepared, confident, and ready to shine on camera.
1. Before Your Session– Getting Camera Ready • Wardrobe: Bring several options. Solid colors always work best, but feel free to bring textures or subtle patterns. Avoid logos, text, or distracting designs. If you want one character-driven “fun” look, go for it , just keep it clean and intentional. • Looks: Actors usually need at least one theatrical look and one commercial look. From there, discuss with your agent and see what else they need from you. • Hair & Makeup: Please arrive camera-ready. We don’t currently provide an on-site makeup artist, so hair should be neat and makeup natural but polished. (We’ll add an MUA option in the future.) • Rest & Hydrate: A good night’s sleep and plenty of water go a long way toward fresh, sharp photos.
2. During the Session– What to Expect
•Wardrobe Review: When you arrive, we’ll look at your outfit options together and choose the best combinations.
•Shooting Process: We’ll shoot each look, check the images together along the way, and make sure you feel confident with what we’re capturing.
•Energy & Comfort: Feel free to bring your favorite music, snacks, or anything that helps you feel at ease and “in character.” (Just no pets, please.)
•Props & Extras: We have a few props and costume pieces on hand if you’d like to explore something character-driven.
3. After Your Session – Delivery & Retouching
•Photo Delivery: Within a week, you’ll receive a private online gallery with high-resolution, color-corrected images of every shot. These are yours to keep.
•Final Selections: Share your favorites with your agent or manager, but narrow them down before sending they’ll appreciate you keeping it focused.
•Retouching: Two retouched photos are included in your package. Additional retouches are available at $15 each. Retouching isn’t required, but it’s highly recommended to give your shots a professional finish.
•Turnaround: Retouched photos are typically ready within five business days after you send in your selections.
4. Studio Policies – The Essentials • Cancellations & Rescheduling: Life happens, if you need to reschedule, please let us know at least 24 hours in advance. Rescheduling is allowed, but repeated changes may require a new deposit. • Respect the Space: We aim to create a calm, creative environment. Please no pets or extra guests unless previously discussed.
5. Extra Tips– Setting Yourself Up for Success
•Bring more clothing options than you think you’ll need. It’s always better to have choices.
•Wear clothes that fit well and make you feel confident that confidence always shows on camera.
•If you have an agent, check in with them beforehand to see what looks they’re missing from your current portfolio.
•Think of this as a collaboration: the more comfortable and prepared you are, the more authentic your headshots will feel.
Bottom line: Come prepared, be yourself, and trust the process. We’ll capture images that help casting directors, agents, and producers see you at your best.
